Recently, a customer asked: can the LED display be used outdoors after a period of time? Is it really possible to change the indoor screen into outdoor LED screen? In our opinion, first of all, it must not be changed casually. The main reasons are as follows:
1. Brightness limit: indoor LED display brightness requirements are not high, mainly using dynamic scanning circuit, but outdoor LED display brightness requirements are relatively high, because it is a static scanning circuit, the hardware difference between the two is relatively large. The main purpose of dynamic scanning is to save the hardware cost of the display screen. The number of driver chips used is more than ten times different. Therefore, the brightness of the indoor screen is relatively low, generally between 1600cd / m2, which is only suitable for indoor use.
2. Waterproof limit. The structural requirements of indoor LED screen are basically not waterproof, even waterproof is a simple waterproof treatment, and the waterproof requirements of outdoor LED screen are very high, because in the outdoor often encounter wind, rain, thunder and lightning, so in the production of cable and box to do waterproof treatment, the requirements of the box structure itself will be different.
3. Viewing distance limit. Indoor LED displays require close viewing distance, generally between P 0.8, P 1.5, P 1.75, P 2, P 3 and P 4, and the area is relatively small, generally within 100 square meters. Outdoor LED displays require a long viewing distance, generally between P 8 and P 20, because outdoor screens usually have a large area, generally more than 40 square meters.
Therefore, we think that due to the differences in brightness, waterproof treatment and model selection between indoor LED display and outdoor display, the raw materials, accessories, box and other hardware are different at the beginning of production, so we should try not to change them as much as possible, which will only make the effect worse and worse
